Rachel has been a freelance illustrator since 1996, after graduating from Brighton University with a BA hons in Graphic Design. She has produced work for a range of magazines, design groups and advertising agencies, but is predominantly known for her work in children’s books.
OObi DOObi by Rachel Fuller, showcases a range of work resulting from her frequent combustions of artistic activity. It is an eclectic market place that presents prints, paintings and cards using a range of creative techniques. Her prints, inspired by nature, move away from the digital age by using hand rendered processes such as lino cutting and silkscreen. They require an ability to simplify form, just as they nod towards a simpler existence. An exploration into image transfer and fascination with different materials are reflected in her other pieces, including small paintings, which are once again influenced by our animal friends and the environment we share.
