Brain hat // Andy Ash

Andy Ash is a sculptor and teacher of art history.  At the house, he is presenting a series of specially made works.  He explains:

“This series of work has been developed in dialogue with Anil Seth and his research as a neuroscientist. Anil’s work has helped me realize that I can’t hide from my brain. I have been investigating the relationship between the brain and my own meaning making as an artist. In many ways the work is an intervention and a conversation, an intervention with Anil’s house (the house of the brain) and a conversation with myself and others. A declaration and an accepting of parts of myself, parts of my brain, and the relationship to creativity. The pieces are about making the internal become external, the hidden being seen.”
